Audiobook Review – Exceeded my expectations!

My husband and I have used audiobooks for years on road trips and love them. If we find the right story the times flies by and we have even found ourselves sitting in a parked car trying to get to the end of a cliff hanger moment. When we had a little one we started phasing this out. When she was a baby we would listen quietly while she slept but we can’t even do that anymore. We found ourselves trying to listen to a story while our Sidekick would wake up and ask us who was talking. As I started strategizing for how to keep my little one entertained on our 150 hour road trip this summer I can up with lots of things to entertain her in the back; but I was going to be stuck on my own in the front with nothing to do or listen to and no one to talk to. It was a [[dulling]] (I don’t know what you are trying to say here) realization. So I thought maybe it’s time to try the audiobooks again; maybe she is old enough that I can find stories for her that wouldn’t be too monotonous for me to listen to as well. What a success!!!

Travel Snacks

I usually save doing snacks like this just for flying, but since I’ve had to bring my little one to a couple grown up functions recently, I’ve been using this to both entertain and feed her, so I thought I would share it.

When it comes to travel I don’t have my little one help with everything even though I am normally all about including her and having her do as much as possible on her own. When it comes to travel I much prefer taking advantage of the element of surprise! Then the action of just finding out and unpacking what has been packed becomes part of the experience and creates it’s own entertainment (and of course takes more time).

Disneyland with Kids!

It goes without saying the any trip to Disneyland would be a wish come true for most kids. Watching a child at Disneyland can also be just as joyous. – That being said it can also be a lot of work, a lot of money, and having a tired grumpy toddler on your hands can end anyone’s fun pretty quickly. So here are a few notes to hopefully keep your trip siding towards blissful rather than traumatic, for all included.

Disneyland Tickets!

Tickets are expensive; there is really no way around it. You can find current pricing here. The general pricing pattern is that the price per day drops dramatically for every additional day you go; there is an additional flat rate fee to make your ticket a Park Hopper Ticket.

Theme Park Ticket – a Ticket allows you to enter 1 park for 1 day; you choose how many days you want to visit a park (within a specified time window), and if you would like to upgrade to a Park Hopper Ticket.

Park Hopper Ticket (upgrade feature) – allows you to go back and forth between both Disneyland and Disney California Adventure freely.

Kids Discounts – Children under the age of 3 are free. There is a slightly discount for children between the ages of 3-10 years.

Disneyland for Kids of All Ages!

For kids of all ages! It really is! I visited for my first time before we had a child and my next visit was years later with our almost 3 year old. I had an amazing time during both trips. I now have an annual pass and visit as often as possible with my almost 4 year old. I’ve also travelled to Disneyland with families of all ages and abilities and am always amazed at how much there is to do; we still haven’t gotten to everything.
