All the cool kids have crayons in their purse!

According to Wikipedia a purse or handbag “is a handled medium-to-large bag that is often fashionably designed, typically used by women, to hold personal items such as wallet/coins, keys, a mobile phone, books, a pen and paper, cosmetics and jewelry, a hairbrush, contraceptives, or pepper spray.”

This is not even close to what I’ve been carry around these days. In addition to whatever tote, backpack, or bag I’m either carrying or is stowed in the car as a working diaper bag I carry what would appear to be a purse. But looks can be deceiving, what looks like a purse is really just a mini diaper bag, (and doesn’t actually include any diapers).

So here’s what I’m carrying in my purse at any given time:

In the smallest pocket in the purse I have the smallest wallet ever, my phone, and keys. That is “my pocket” in what we are still going to ironically call, “my purse,” belongs to a toddler I know.

Straws & Snack & Silverware

Small Toy

String & Buttons

Pom Poms

And it all fits in this very functional, efficient, practical and anything but “fashionably designed” purse.

So I have two questions for you moms out there; the first is when do I get my purse back? The second is what am I missing, what’s your go-to emergency kit for entertaining your toddler???

Well, you have no bandaids or collapsible hairbrush or a pair of folding scissors… and I have to admit that I have a foldable water dish for my dog in my purse — but then my kids are full grown now…
